1. Importing rigged 3d models in .dae(Collada) format in Autodesk Maya
If you want to import a rigged model of a character or anything in Collada( .dae) format, DO NOT import it directly into Maya by DAE_FBX import, or else the rig will be clustered around the model and It'll me a mess.
First import the rigged .dae model in Autodesk 3ds Max, then export the model along with the rig in FBX format. Then import this FBX file into Maya. You'll get the model with perfect skeleton.
